출제 경향: (대)명사구 앞에 쓰는 전치사의 기능을 숙지하고 있어야 한다.

 

1. 전치사구의 구조: 전치사구는「전치사+명사 상당 어구」의 구조를 이룬다.

   → 명사 상당 어구: 명사(구), 동명사구, 대명사(목적격), 의문사가 이끄는 명사절

   He sat between Tom and she. → (×) her: 대명사는 목적격으로

   He is good at to sing. → (×) singing: 전치사 다음에는 동명사

 

2. 전치사 vs. 접속사: 접속사 다음에는「주어+서술어」형태가 온다.

  → 전치사: because of, during, in spite of[despite], like

      접속사: because, while, although / 형용사: alike

   My life has changed because you. → (×) because of

   Although all our efforts, we lost the game. → (×) In spite of 혹은 Despite
