We are pleased to inform you that you are one of the 23 foreign runners
selected to participate in the Sakura-Michi International Nature Run 2011.
Please complete the acceptance form and return it to us by December 10 2010.

Also This letter is to inform you of the accommodation and meeting-place for
the 2011 race.

We're looking forward to you joining us in April, which is the season for
cherry blossom here in Japan.

2011 Sakura-Michi International Nature Run

It’s about expense of participation

 

 

 

To all runners and companions from abroad,

 

1. The runner from abroad have to pay 45,000yen to the executive committee.

2. The companions (family member) have to pay 45,000yen (necessary expense, every one person) to the executive committee.

3. The runners and family members will be secured their staying as follows.

 

Include in accommodations and meals,

4/11(Mon) ~4/14(Thu) Abram Institute with all meals,

4/15(Fri) KKR Nagoya Sannomaru Hotel with breakfast on 16th

  morning,

all transportation during the race,

4/17(Sun) Shirotori with breakfast and lunch on 18th.

 

Not include,

lunch and supper on 15th April,

meals during the race (from lunch on 16th till supper on 17th),

supper on 17th April.

 Please note that anyone who accepts the offer of a place and then withdraws without informing us will not be allowed to take part in future runs.

   Hello, how are you?  I hope this letter finds you well.

  Thank you very much for joining Sakura-Michi International Nature Run. Your

  entry for Sakura-Michi 2011 has been accepted.This letter is to inform you of the

  accommodation and meeting-place for the 2011 race.

 

  Accommodation information:

 

    If you arrive Japan before 15th of April, you are able to stay for free at Abram Institute from 11th to 14th(4 nights).  We recommend that all foreign runners arrive at Abram Institute at the very latest by 13th April 2011. The race orientation for foreign runners will be given on the evening of the 14th April at Abram Institute. It is recommended that runners arrive as early as possible in order to recover from the journey and overcome their jetlag. Before 11th April, a fee will be charged to stay at Abram Institute.

    Runners who go to Nagoya directly, the race orientation will be given only by japanese, no translation support. We would like you to understand about this matter.

    And runners who are going to arrive with family members, please let us know it for a secure accommodation.

   Abram Institute is located in Gifu Prefecture.

 

   Access:

  From Central Japan International Airport (Nagoya)

 Take bus to JR(Japan Railways) Nagoya station --- take JR Takayama line

 express train (called 'Hida') --- get off at JR Hida Furukawa station

 (2 hours and 40 minutes from JR Nagoya station)

    From Kansai International Airport (Osaka)

     take train to JR Shin-Osaka station --- take Shinkansen --- get off at JR Nagoya

     station (1hour on Shinkansen) --- then same as above

    From Shin-Tokyo International Airport (Narita)

      take train or bus to JR Tokyo station --- take Shinkansen --- get off at JR

      Nagoya station (2hours on Shinkansen) --- then same as above

 

   NB: Please call us. We will come to meet you at JR Hida Furukawa

太平洋と日本海を桜でつなごう  ──────────────────── 2011さくら道国際ネイチャーラン

趣 旨                               

太平洋と日本海を結ぶ266kmの道を、桜のトンネルで結ぼうと決意した男がいた。

御母衣ダム工事で、水没する山寺の樹齢400年を数える桜の古木が移植され、

見事に蘇ったその生命力に感動したからである。

その男は名古屋と金沢を往復するバスの車掌・故佐藤良二氏である。

彼はバスの走る道沿いに、桜の苗木を黙々と植え続けた。

乏しい蓄えを注いだ。

少ない休暇を使った。

2,000本も植えただろうか。男は病に倒れた。

志半ばで力尽き、逝った。

47歳の短い生涯だった。

清貧という言葉が改めて見直される今、

「人の喜ぶことをしたい」と病魔に侵された我が身を顧みず、無償の行為を貫いた佐藤氏の生き方は、

貧しくとも豊かな心を持つ、人間の幸福な姿を問いかけてくれる。

佐藤氏が夢みた“さくらのトンネル”を、走り抜けるという形でその遺志を受け継ぐとともに、

「太平洋と日本海を桜でつなぐ」という大事業の完成に少しでも寄与できればと考えて、

今回『太平洋と日本海を桜でつなごう 2011さくら道国際ネイチャーラン』を開催する。
